With summer just around the corner, I’ve made a small update to my ebook: West Lofoten Hikes
Main new content is 3 new mountain routes: Andstabben, Tindstind, and Fuglhuken – all located on Moskenesøy. And then a few minor grammer corrections and other things to try and keep the guide as fresh as possible.

I’m happy to announce that the third edition of Seasons on Lofoten: Winter is now available.
Almost 3 years to the day since I launched the first edition, which was also my first ebook, it now is part of 6 guides to northern Scandinavia. This is mostly just a minor refresh of some data, correcting of some spelling, and a few new images in the portfolio.

It is the dark season here, so I’m getting a lot of writing done at the moment, so there will be more updates to the site over the next week. Some hikes in for the west will be delayed though, as I want to add them to the eBook – West Lofoten Hikes first, before they are available here, while other select mountains will only be found in the eBook.
It has been a busy finish to the autumn, with the best September weather that I can remember, and a pretty good October as well: Seeming endless days of sun and nights of northern lights – the past five nights in a row as I write this on Wednesday. But now the weather has finally turned a bit and snow is falling on the mountains above my house. So I have finally gotten around to publishing my photo tour schedule for 2018.

I’m keeping a light schedule for my group tours this year as I have already been booked on a number of individual private tours and guiding for other companies. If you are interested in a private tour, then contact me soon, as my schedule is about as full as I want it to be, so I wont be taking on many more trips for 2018.
I’m a bit late in making the announcement here and those of you who are on my email list ( who also received a discount) or follow me on Facebook already know the news: That I have released my 6th ebook! West Lofoten – A Mountain Photography Guide to 24 Hikes on Moskenesøy and Flakstadøy.
Like the title says, this guide focuses on the mountains of west Lofoten – my home for the last year now and where I have spent a majority of my time.
Available for $14. The book is 239 pages long with 150 image, and somewhere around 28,000 words. This is my biggest work yet and took up a lot of my time over the last months – not counting all the hiking that needed to be done over the past summer! But I think the effort was worth it and I’m quite happy with the result.

It was a fairly mild autumn on Lofoten last year, and I managed to get in some long coveted peaks during this time. Fingers crossed for the same conditions this year. But first, winter!

With only a couple days left in the year, I have finally gotten around to uploading a gallery from this summer.
It was a busy year, and there were almost too many images to choose from. But also, there were some days where everything worked out perfectly, and I would like to show every angle, focal length, view point, from a single location and moment that produced dozens of images. But of course, that doesn’t make very much sense! And so I have to edit a bit, unfortunately. However, you can always head to my photo archive and see everything (that I have gotten around to processing).
After a long pause in adding new content, mainly because I’ve been busy writing my next ebook for Lofoten – a hiking/mountain photography guide to Moskenesøy and Flakstadøy, I have added a new mountain hike to the site: VOLANDSTIND
Volandstind is located just down the road from my house, and sort of my backyards mountain. It is a good easy walk and I usually go up for the exercise most times and leave my camera behind. And the views, like most anything on Lofoten, are fantastic.
My ebook should be coming to a close in the next few weeks, which should then allow me a bit more time to add new hiking guides to the site. Though some mountains will only be available in the ebook, at least for a while, as I want to give exclusive content to people who help support me and my efforts here…
I’m happy to announce that my Beaches of Lofoten ebook has just received an update.
The updates includes two new mountain hikes for Nubben and Flakstadtind, both on Flakstadøy. As well as many new images bringing the guide to 208 pages in total!
For those of you who purchased the first edition, you should receive an email sometime today with a link for a free download to the updated version.
Along with this update, all my ebooks have received a price increase to $14.

Overall, I will be keeping a slightly lighter tour schedule in 2017 than I did in 2016. I had more private tour bookings than I was expecting, which at times left me away from home for weeks on end. I am also simultaneously working on several new ebooks for both Lofoten and other areas in Norway and Sweden, all of which all take a lot of field, photography, and research time. I have already fallen a bit behind my deadlines for 2016 and had to cancel a few photo/hiking trips all together – which in the short seasons of the Scandinavian arctic, basically delays things by a year. Being busy is a good problem to have, but the key is finding balance…
